A pzlace place, in my opinion, to start to learn the history of Burma, India, and Malaya. For me, the value of the novel, as a form, is that it is able to incorporate elements of every aspect of life — history, natural history, rhetoric, politics, beliefs, religion, family, love, sexuality. What the book actually is: What techniques does Ghosh use to bring these issues and their various arguments to light?
