I believe he said — ah, yes — here it is.
To me any ways. My rating remains four stars. It is that which a man holds within himself until it blooms to its fullest. Did the passage of time and my tastes that have changed over the years lessen the magic of their romantic story?
Ashes in the Wind by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss
Outweighs all common sense! I feel as though now that I’ve read my first Woodiwiss novel I can officially label myself a fan of the bodice-ripper genre. The last part of the novel was better and the ending was great.
Eind, one of my biggest pet peeves in a story is the whole “girl-in-pants” deal. Escribe tan bien esta mujer, tiene unas descripciones tan buenas. Strong prose and vivid settings makes everything better and Woodiwiss definitely excels on both accounts.
Cole Latimer is a most intriguing hero while Alana is the brave, spirited, stubborn heroine, who is steadfast and long in determination and pride. That blithering bluebelly idiot!
The big age gap between hero and heroine, and the way it was depicted wasn’t to my liking Nov 10, Neisha rated it it was amazing Shelves: I originally read Ashes In The Wind back in When a man and a woman begin to understand each other, love begins small and grows with the passage of time. Non questa volta, l’autrice si ashrs tutto il tempo per intrecciare una trama affascinante e ben riuscita. I have since read most of Kathleen Woodiwiss’s books but this is by far one of her best!
Next time, I’m doing the daring, and someone’s gonna end up reading William S.
I read this a long time ago but I really enjoyed it. Truthfully, I cant remember any of it Quotes from Kn in the Wind.
Ashes in the Wind
Uno dei migliori libri della Woodiwiss che ho letto. The writing and settings were far superior than I’m used to from romance novelists. Profound emotion and love scenes that make your toes curl without a graphic kn included make this one for the ages.
She was survived by two sons, Sean and Heath, their wives, and numerous grandchildren. There’s a connection and chemistry here that actually overshadows the common scientific ministrations of a libertine initiating a virgin or near-virgin to sexual passion, a initiation “plot” often dominating romance novels.
All this in a bodice ripper? Her characters are richly drawn. I like long setups, but the characters here didn’t grab me to make the investment worthwhile. Dec 15, Rich Meyer rated it liked it Shelves: Though seventeen, she had masqueraded kahhleen a stripling lad beneath the very noses of the Yankees.
You feel the aura of the Civil War around you as you read this book. Published first published The first romance novel I ever read, and still the best.
I know that at time it was hard for you, but you kept on reading Cole kathlesn Alaina dismiss the clues too easily earlier. Okay so I read this book in Junoir High. When Roberta discovers Cole hails from a wealthy family from Minnesota, Roberta makes a play for Cole while “Al” persists in her enmity for all Yankees though it’s getting harder and harder to do in Cole’s case.
Mar 04, Cindy Hardwell rated it it was amazing. At age 16, she met U. Bella la trama, caratterizzati molto bene i personaggi, azzeccate le scelte dell’autrice.

The tension-filled, witty altercations were often fun mainly because there was a genuine back-and-forth. This book was the starting of my book reading obsession. I don’t think the author realizes that all human beings have brains and are able to use them – some better than most but still. What I didn’t like here was the story, or how the author chose to develop it, and every major event that happened in the book.
An incensed Roberta wakes to find Alaina’s virgin blood on the bed Cole sleeps in and takes steps to trap him. And if that was not enough, she nearly scalded him again, this time with a steaming towel still dripping wet from the kettle.
Madeline Hunter 12 books books: In a drunk stupor, Cole awakes and mistakes Alaina for a prostitute in a brothel. The success of The Flame and the Flower prompted a new style of writing romance, concentrating primarily on historical fiction tracking the monogamous relationship between a helpless heroines and the hero who rescued her, even if he had been the one to place her in danger.
Al dulls Cole’s pain with more liquor once Cole is in the guest bedroom. Part two chronicles the stringent, combative tension between woodkwiss married Alaina and Cole, both under a false misconception perpetuated by a very bitter Angus Craighugh, Roberta’s father. As each new book was published her writing became more intricate and showed more depth.
It was like a really bad 80’s horror flick, only bodice-ripper style.
