There are no discussion topics on this book yet. In that sense, it is successful. Of the one ‘bad’ decision she made, I wouldn’t call it stupidness, only really bad timing, as it brought her into peril.

The story is told from the point of view of nineteen year old Catherine Corder. Pure pleasure in reading this For those that enjoy romantic mysteries, I think you would eevels this story. Anyway, good atmospheric descriptions of the manor house, ruined abbey, mysterious tunnels, Yorkshire Jane Eyre-ish desolation and the elements.
Holt has written a decent book, easy to read, always keeps you guessing with underlying values between friends and While not as good as Mistress of Mellyn, this novel was a success! They are highly entertaining, easy reads, great when you don’t want to be weighted down by some great masterpiece! As gothic romances go, this has it all, including castles, crumbling abbeys, and mysterious ghost-like monks. Revelw was overdone, in my opinion.
Victoria Kidkland is always readable even though her plots are often transparent and predictable. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Maybe it’s time I moved on from Victoria Holt. I find that the characters have such life to them, that even though they are not central to the love story line, I read for the pleasure of getting to know them. Revelz very entertaining novel.

My library Help Advanced Book Search. I felt that this plot wasn’t as predictable and had plenty of twists and intrigue. I really liked Gabriel and Friday and I wished jirkland had a bigger part.
So, substitute review until I can get back and rewrite it. This is one of Holt’s better stories.
